Serving Ohio's HPERD Professionals since 1895 . . .

The Ohio Physical Education Association dates back to 1895. It is credited as being the first state association recognized by the American Association for the Advancement of Physical Education. The name changed as the association grew and in 1929 became the School Health and Physical Education Association of Ohio.

OAHPERD serves HPERD professionals pre-k through higher education. The association is more than 600 people strong and is committed to the advancement of the profession.

OAHPERD is affiliated with SHAPE America and SHAPE America Midwest District.
